What is a Mission Statement?

It is a reminder of who we are, what we believe and how we want to live together as a school community.

Inspired by Christ’s love, we nurture every child to flourish in faith, learning and life.

Through kindness, compassion and care, we create a safe and welcoming community where everyone is valued, supported and encouraged to become the person God calls them to be.

Our Mission Statement begins with some very important words:

“Inspired by Christ’s love, we nurture every child to flourish in faith, learning and life.”

Let’s think about the word flourish.

When a plant is given sunlight, water, good soil and care, it grows. It becomes strong and healthy and eventually blossoms.

People are a little bit like that too.

We flourish when we are loved, cared for, encouraged and supported.

And that is what we want for every child in our school.

  At St Margaret Mary’s, we nurture each child to live as Christ’s mind, hands, feet, eyes and heart in an ever-changing world.  We help them to grow in faith, love and learning through the principles of:

• Knowledge: learning new things
• Aspiration: trying our best and encouraging each child to live out their God given potential
• Service: helping others and fostering hearts that care for others
• Prayer: talking to God every day and deepening our relationship with God
