Mater Christi Trust

St Margaret Mary Catholic Primary School
Following the will of the Bishop that all school in the Diocese of Lancaster should look to academise into larger MAT families, the Mater Christi Multi-Academy Trust was founded in September 2021, bringing together 16 Catholic schools: two secondaries and 14 primaries across North Lancashire and Cumbria in the Diocese of Lancaster.
Our values: Loving, Learning and Togetherness underpin our approach to working together to improve and provide excellent education. We know that we are serving different communities and therefore our schools are not all the same. They retain their individuality and a great deal of autonomy, but we do a lot together and we are aligning on key elements.
We want our pupils to know that we know and love them. We want them to leave us happy, compassionate and fulfilled. We want our staff to feel supported to be the best that they can be, with the right resources and training.
We are inspired by the name of our Trust: Mater Christi – the Mother of Christ – who serves as a powerful role model for all of us showing faith, strength and patience. We are honoured to have her title as our name.
Please feel free to contact us if you would like to visit any of our schools or hear about our priorities and actions.
